Like most of us, I tend to take a lot of photos while on holiday. And it’s nice to be reminded of those special moments while doing the more mundane tasks of everyday life. At any rate, I wanted to get some shots printed and after seeing an ad online for Snapfish I decided to give them a try; after all, they were offering 50 free prints; how could I refuses!?!
Truth is, I couldn’t. My local stationary shop was charging $0.19 for a standard 4×6″ print. Then I would have to go instore, wait in line, wait some more while my photos loaded on to their system; that is, if their machine was even working (which half the time it wasn’t). So, needless to say I was pretty eager to give Snapfish a go; even before they offered me 50 free prints each month. Shipping was a very reasonable $3.95 and I was sold.
My user experience on the Snapfish app was going amazingly. I downloaded the app; selected my 50 photos; entered my New Zealand shipping address and payment details; and then… things got a little stink š
It took forever to upload my photos; by “forever” I mean a good couple of hours waiting, followed by multiple error messages and a further wait while I retried the upload. Fortunately I was at home (YAY!!) so I could continue with my day in spite of the delays.
Having now used the SnapfishĀ app for four months I can safely say that the loading delays were not their fault. Turns out my internet runs slow sometimes. However, when I order my prints after 11pm the upload goes pretty quick. (I guess that makes me a moonlight uploader. lol)

Snapfish is an Australian company and Photos are printed in Sydney. To my knowledge they ship to NZ, AU, UK & US.Ā My orders usually arrive To New Zealand within 7-8 days of placing my order. I have never had a parcel lost and have been very satisfied with my free 10x15cm (6x4inch) prints. I’m looking forward to trying more of their products in the future.

Unfortunately, it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for Snapfish. Earlier this year Fair Go ran a story where two women had their orders mixed up. I can totally understand their concern, I wouldn’t want my private photos in a random strangers hands either. And there are many other complaintsĀ online including lost orders, shipping delays and unsatisfactory products; resulting in quite a few one star reviews. However this sort of thing is the risk we take when ordering online. Fortunately for me I am one of thousands of satisfied Snapfish customers. All my orders haveĀ been delivered quickly, within the specified time, and to the quality that I expected.
