These Beef Patties are a great lunch or Dinner option. And could also be made into meatballs. Recipe makes 8-15 patties depending on your preferred size/thickness. They can easily be formed and frozen (both raw and pre-cooked) for meals on a time crunch.
Ingredients
- 2 Red Onions, large; finely diced
- 3 Celery Stalks; finely diced
- 100g Almonds; ground
- 1 kg Mince Beef (not premium mince as we need 8-10% fat)
- 1 tsp Salt
- Pepper; to taste
- 1 Egg
- 2 Garlic Cloves; minced
- Coconut Oil
Sauté Onion and Celery until lightly browned.
Combine Onion, Celery, Almond meal, Mince, Salt, Pepper, Egg and garlic.
For thin patties form into 100g balls, if you like them a bit thicker form into 200g balls.
Heat a large frying pan on a medium heat; once heated pop in 1 Tablespoon of Coconut Oil.
Place a 9cm metal ring (or round cookie cutter) in the pan and push one serve of meat firmly into the mold to form a patty, repeat for the other patties
Cook approx. 5-7 minutes on each side; or until cooked through.
Serve in Almond buns with your choice of lettuce, beetroot, gherkins, tomato, grated carrot, onion rings, avocado, fried egg, pineapple rings, cheese, mayonnaise, tomato sauce, etc.
